Riesling 2022
Stará Hora
The first encounter unveils a burst of ripe peach aromas, accompanied by apricot nectar and a hint of candied orange zest. A profound perfume of pineapple sage adds an exotic touch to this sensory symphony. This wine is richly textured and concentrated. As it breathes, a beautiful evolution occurs in the glass, unveiling layer upon layer of nuance, herb, fruit, and steely minerality rising from the juicy depths.
Savor the syrupy juiciness of Asian pear, with notes of pineapple and fragrant elderflower. Enjoy the vibrant sweetness of Navel orange and mandarin juice, followed by the comforting presence of chamomile and the return of peaches. The journey continues with the exquisite taste of delicious yellow plum jam, delicately spiced with vanilla, cinnamon, and ginger.
This wine boasts a fine-boned structure with beautiful momentum, offering lush concentration and a well-balanced palate. Its deep, rich, and broad character, coupled with a firm, chewy texture, contributes to a lingering length, inviting you to relish each nuanced note.

16.5 / 20
Bright greenish gold. Smells less expressively Riesling than the regular bottling, with a hint of spearmint. More complex than the regular bottling and still unfurling. Very much a food wine - a 14% Riesling in quite unusual! But it's not too heavy.
The lone star of Czech dry Riesling shines as brightly as many of the great dry rieslings of Germany, France and Austria. Terrific lemon zest, stone fruit and honeysuckle complexity. Concentrated, but only at the upper limit of medium-bodied, the minerality beautifully interwoven into the wealth of delicate fruit aromas. Great length and purity in the finish. Drink or hold.

The track is known primarily for our premium Riesling, oriented southeast. You can find it right next to the Vinohrádky track. It covers an area of 3 hectares and stretches at an altitude of 233–285 m above sea level. In the spring of 2021, we planted the very first blue varieties in our winery on the track. Specifically, these are the Frankovka, Merlot and Dornfelder varieties and they will join forces in the upcoming red cuvée.

Marek Sedláček
"Wine takes time and patience."
Winemaking is a constant process — a journey that never ends. Every day we think about how to do things better, more sensitively, and with greater respect for nature, place, and tradition.
The most important thing for us remains the work in the vineyard. It is there, between the rows of vines, that the grapes that form the basis of our wines are born. Each bush deserves individual attention — from working with the green part of the vineyard to deciding how much sun and space to give the grapes.
We run our vineyards in the BIO regime. It is important for us that the soil is alive. When the soil is healthy, the vines, plants and life around the vineyards thrive. The best certification for us is the bees that bring life to the landscape - and then sweet honey to the table.
As our vineyards mature, our approach to wines changes. We give them time, even if they could have been on the market for a long time. Some wines we release after two years, others we let age even longer to show their true character.
Our vision is clear: to let time speak and show the beauty and potential of the Gurdau wines. Imagine a wine list made up of multiple vintages. Each one tells its own story — the story of the place, the weather, the terroir, the development and our signature.”

"We give things time to be real. Each of our wines is then a reflection of the place where it comes from."
