Riesling 2022

Vesnice Kurdějov

Delicate and shy, aromas of chamomile and meadow flowers unite with nuanced notes of lanolin and Sicilian lemon oil. It unfolds on the palate, starting softly and building into a stunning momentum.

Powerful concentration with herbal lift and tangy delight reminiscent of Amalfi lemons captures the essence of Amalfi, from pulp to peel, including the astringent crunch of lemon seeds.

The harmonious dance of flavors continues with a combination of ripe orange and juicy peach, with a hint of rosemary. The texture is similar to silk, offering a luxurious feel that leads to a long and persistent pomelo finish. Expressive and beautifully drinkable.

Interesting to taste this immediately after an Adoria Riesling 2021 from Poland - grown not so far from this wine. Intensely flavoured, this pure, clean wine is clearly Riesling, with only a tiny amount of residue! sugar. Just slightly denser than the Adoria, less refined. But very respectable.

Although this dry Czech Riesling is barely medium-bodied, it has a terrific spicy and herbal complexity and notes of bergamot and Amalfi lemons. Expands considerably as it aerates in the glass. Long, graceful finish with a wealth of herbal and licorice nuances. Fermented and matured on the lees in stainless steel. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Marek Sedláček

"Wine takes time and patience."
Winemaking is a constant process — a journey that never ends. Every day we think about how to do things better, more sensitively, and with greater respect for nature, place, and tradition.

The most important thing for us remains the work in the vineyard. It is there, between the rows of vines, that the grapes that form the basis of our wines are born. Each bush deserves individual attention — from working with the green part of the vineyard to deciding how much sun and space to give the grapes.

We run our vineyards in the BIO regime. It is important for us that the soil is alive. When the soil is healthy, the vines, plants and life around the vineyards thrive. The best certification for us is the bees that bring life to the landscape - and then sweet honey to the table.

As our vineyards mature, our approach to wines changes. We give them time, even if they could have been on the market for a long time. Some wines we release after two years, others we let age even longer to show their true character.

Our vision is clear: to let time speak and show the beauty and potential of the Gurdau wines. Imagine a wine list made up of multiple vintages. Each one tells its own story — the story of the place, the weather, the terroir, the development and our signature.”
