Riesling 2023
Stará Hora
A symphony of flowers and fruit unfolds in the glass, moving between marigold blossoms and yellow plum, dried alpine herbs and apricot, jasmine and kumquat, all carried with poise and balanced elegance.
Rich yet fully controlled, the wine shows a heavy satin texture, with concentrated layers shaping a perfectly balanced sweet-and-sour tension. On the palate, tinned peach, pineapple, and clementine dominate, while nectarines ripened to softness unfold alongside mango, and lemon drop and lime bonbons add brightness and lift.
In the next layer, pink grapefruit mingles with cooling wild mint and lemon balm, lending freshness and vitality, while a delicate mineral grip threads through to a lingering saline finish with a honeycomb aftertaste.

This vineyard site is known primarily for our premium Riesling and faces southeast. It lies right next to Vinohrádky, covers 3 hectares and stretches from 233 to 285 m above sea level. In spring 2021, we planted the first red grape varieties at our winery here: Frankovka, Merlot and Dornfelder, which will form the basis of our upcoming red cuvée.

Marek Sedláček
"Wine takes time and patience."
Winemaking is a constant process — a journey that never ends. Every day we think about how to do things better, more sensitively, and with greater respect for nature, place, and tradition.
The most important thing for us remains the work in the vineyard. It is there, between the rows of vines, that the grapes that form the basis of our wines are born. Each bush deserves individual attention — from working with the green part of the vineyard to deciding how much sun and space to give the grapes.
We farm our vineyards organically. It is important to us that the soil is alive. When the soil is healthy, the vines, plants and life around the vineyards thrive. For us, the best certification is the bees that bring life to the landscape — and sweet honey to the table.
As our vineyards mature, our approach to wines changes. We give them time, even if they could have been on the market for a long time. Some wines we release after two years, others we let age even longer to show their true character.
Our vision is clear: to let time speak and show the beauty and potential of Gurdau wines. Imagine a wine list made up of multiple vintages. Each one tells its own story — the story of the place, the weather, the terroir, its development and our signature.

Attention to detail
"We give things time to be real. Each of our wines is then a reflection of the place where it comes from."
